Techkriti 2011 is the Annual Technology and Entrepreneurship Festival of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. The word Techkriti is a portmanteau coined from “Technical” and “kriti” meaning creation. It lives upto its name when it evokes images of not only those tangible little machines and bots but also the great ideas which are brought to the fore by talented Junta in order to become Numero Uno.

Our motive has always been to encourage, promote and make the aspirants aware of the technical and entrepreneurial developments across the world. We thus provide a platform to students to showcase their talent and innovation in varied arenas. Techkriti has more than 40 competitions in areas ranging from paper presentation to Rubik's Cubing. Apart from that, Techkriti would be graced by many world renowned *personalities *including the Nobel Laureates, CEOs of large MNCs, Social Entrepreneurs, Politicians and young innovators. We also have many heart throbbing exhibitions and shows waiting for you!

The headline event of Techkriti this year is the Wild Soccer Championship - http://www.techkriti.org/competitions/wild-soccer/wildsoccerchampionship/abstract-2. WSC would be a first of its kind *inter collegiate event *where colleges from all across the country will battle against each other for the *WSC Trophy*. Each college will be represented by a team of 3 bots- a goalkeeper, a defender and an attacker. However, here the robots will not only have to *score goals*, but will also *rip apart *the opponent's robot. Only the maximum number of goals would be the winning criterion.

This year, Techkriti reveals its brand ambassador and mascot- "GEEKU". Geeku is symbolic of the revolution that Techkriti aims to bring about in young minds throughout the country- *"The Renaissance of the Geeks!"*. To know more about the grand event, visit our website http://www.techkriti.org.
