(Fellowship) Recruitment of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at IIT, Ropar: 2011

Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work in the project entitled “Modeling and simulation of viscous fingering instability between two miscible fluids in liquid chromatographic conditions”, sponsored by Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, under the supervision of undersigned. The Position is temporary and is available immediately. It is possible for the selected candidate to register for Ph. D. program as per existing institute rules and will get a very good interdisciplinary research environment with fully equipped computing facilities.
The aim of the project is to develop a suitable numerical method to solve a hydrodynamical instability situation appearing in liquid chromatographic separation and analyse the results. Experience in numerical computing, fluid dynamics and programming skills in C++ or FORTRAN and knowledge of Matlab software will be given priority in the selection process.

Eligibility:
The following categories of candidates are eligible to apply:
Master degree or equivalent degree in any branch of Mathematical
Sciences/Physical Sciences with 60% marks (or 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale) with
valid GATE score or should possess valid certificates in one of the national
entrance tests such as NBHM/CSIR/UGC NET.
OR
Master degree (MSc/ME/MTech) or equivalent degree in Mechanical
Engineering/Chemical Engineering,
OR
BE / B Tech or equivalent degrees in Mechanical Enginnering/Chemical Engineering
with valid GATE score.
OR
Equivalent degree/qualification from any foreign university.
Emoluments:
- As per DST rules. I & II year - Rs. 16,000/- p.m. + HRA, III year - Rs. 18,000/- p.m. + HRA
