Results of JEE-2011 declared
The results of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-2011) for admission to various courses in the fifteen IITs, IT-BHU and ISM Dhanbad have been declared today. Out of the total 4, 68,240 candidates who appeared in the test conducted by seven of the IITs on April 10, 2011, 13,602 candidates including 1491 girls, have been declared qualified to take admission for 9618 seats in the IITs at Bhubaneswar, Bombay, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Mandi, Patna, Rajasthan, Ropar, Roorkee and IT-BHU Varanasi and ISM Dhanbad. Factoring in attrition during counseling, larger number of candidates are selected than the number of seats available
All the qualified candidates, from this year are expected to fill their choice of courses and pay the registration fee on-line. Candidates belonging to Physically Disabled (PD) sub-category will have to report in person to the counseling institutes for a checkup before a specially constituted Medical Board as specified in the counseling brochure, soft copy of which is already displayed in the JEE website. For the convenience of such candidates, for the first time, Medical Boards have been constituted at IIT Kanpur and at IIT Khargapur along with IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati and IIT Madras.
