Admissions For Ph.D/ Post Doctoral Programme : 2011-12

Applications are invited for admission to the Ph.D. Programme (Regular and Sponsored categories) of the Institute in all disciplines of Engineering & Technology, Science, Architecture & Regional Planning, Humanities & Social Sciences and Law (Intellectual Property Rights, Corporate Law, and Environment Law). Admission to reserved-category candidates will be done as per Government of India notification. Applicants are required to apply online. Application fee is Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST). Women candidates are exempted from the payment of application fees.
Applicants are advised to visit to concerned Department Webpage for more details about research areas and faculty . They must also read Ph.D. Regulations of the institute for ELIGIBILITY and other details .

Eligibility:

Candidates aged 35 Years or less having a Ph.D. Degree and willing to carry out advanced research in the fields of Engineering & Technology, Science, Architecture & Regional Planning, Humanities & Social Sciences and Law (Intellectual Property Rights, Corporate Law, Environment Law and Management) should apply to the Assistant Registrar (PGS&R), IIT Kharagpur, Kharagpur-721 302 (W.B.)

  • Admission Notice to appear as Advertisement in selected media : 24.09.2011
  • Online application forms to be made available from : 24.09.2011
  • Last date of applying online : 14.10.2011
  • Date of Test & Interviews in Depts/Centres/Schools (for short listed candidates): 22-24 November, 2011 (Tentative)
  • Joining date for selected candidates:  29.12.2011 (Tentative)

Application Fees

Demand Drafts of Rs.500/- (Rs.250 for SC/ST category) should be made in favour of "IIT Kharagpur" on any nationalized bank payable at Kharagpur.
