Common Entrance Test - 2011

The Department of Training and Technical Education, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, in its endeavour to provide technical manpower suited to varied needs of industry, imparts technical education and technological skills through various courses of study of different levels. Full-time Diploma Courses in Engineering / Technology, Occupational and Secretarial / Management based disciplines are offered at different AICTE approved Government Polytechnics, Privately managed Polytechnics and Government aided Institutions affiliated to the Board of Technical Education, Delhi.

The Department of Training & Technical Education plans to admit students to first semester / first year for the academic session 2011-12 for various Full-time Diploma programmes being offered at Institutes affiliated to the Board of Technical Education (BTE), Delhi, through the Common Entrance Test (CET- 2011).

Admission to the Polytechnics through CET-2011 will also be available for candidates passing out from CBSE 10+2 (Vocational Engineering Stream) from Schools located in Delhi & those from institutions located in Delhi & affiliated to SCVT / NCVT.These students will be eligible for admission to Second Year/Third Semester of Full-Time Diploma Engineering courses in analogous disciplines against 10% supernumerary seats earmarked for them subject to regulations or guidelines issued by the AICTE or the Government of NCT th of Delhi. However, ITI pass outs of trades for which the entry level qualification for admission to ITI is 8 pass or the duration of ITI trade is less than one year shall not be considered for lateral entry.

For 2011-12 academic session, the institution and intake for which admission will be conducted shall be available at the website : http://www.cetdelhi.nic.in at the time of the counselling after receiving the final decision of the AICTE for 2011-12.

Common Entrance Test (CET-2011)

Age Limit:

Candidates should be below 21 Years (24 years for 10+2 Vocational Engineering Stream and ITI pass out candidates for admission against 10% supernumerary seats in Second Year and 30 Years for women th st candidates for 12 based courses) as on 1 August of the admission year. The upper age limit will be relaxed th by 5 years in case of SC/ST/PH candidates, 2 years for women candidates for 10 based courses. Maximum age relaxation given to any candidate will, however, not exceed 5 years. No age relaxation is admissible to the candidates other than those specified above.

Physical Fitness:

All the students shall be required to submit a Medical Fitness Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner (Annexure- 1) at the time of admission.

Seat Allocation:

According to the provision of the delhi diploma level technical education institutions (prohibition of capitation fee, regulation of admission, fixation of non-exploitative fee and other measures to ensure equity and excellence) Act 2007 vide Notification No. 161/ 12/ADMN/ POI/DEP/2007/ DDTE/ 520 Dated th 17 July 2007

Sale of Information Bulletin and Application Form:

Information Bulletin alongwith application form will be on sale from 04.04.2011 to 30.04.2011 on payment in cash of Rs.350/- per Test on all working days (Monday to Friday from 9.30 a.m to 3.30 p.m and Saturday from 9.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon except Gazetted holidays, if any) from the sale counters of the following earmarked branches of Corporation Bank within Delhi and NCR of Delh

Sale of Information Bulletin By Post:

The Information Bulletin and OMR/ICR application form for candidates residing outside Delhi can be obtained by registered/speed post on payment of Rs.350/- per test in the form of a Demand Draft in favour of “DKDF” payable at Delhi alongwith a self-addressed envelope of not less than 24x30 cm affixing thereon postage stamp of Rs. 50/- request for which must reach the Controller, Board of Technical Education, Muni Maya Ram Marg, Pitampura, Delhi-110088 latest by 19.04.2011 (4.00 PM). The name, address and telephone number of the candidates should be mentioned clearly on the backside of the bank draft. The amount once remitted shall not be refunded under any circumstances. The Board of Technical Education will not be responsible for the delay, loss or damage of the Information Bulletin, ICR/OMR application form, admit card, demand draft if any, during the transit. The envelope requesting for issuance of information bulletin and application form by post must be super scribed at the left-top corner as “Request for Information Bulletin for CET-2011”.

The candidates residing in Delhi/New Delhi shall not be supplied the Information Bulletin and application form by post.The outside candidate getting the information bulletin by post, however, can send the duly completed application form either by post to the Controller, Board of Technical Education, Muni Maya Ram Marg, Pitampura, Delhi-110088 or deposit in person at any of the respective receiving centres in Polytechnics in Delhi/New Delhi by 30.04.2011 (4.00 P.M.)

Guidelines For Filling-up The Application Form For Cet - 2011:

  • Candidates are advised to go through the information bulletin carefully and acquaint themselves with all requirements in respect to fill-up the application form for CET-2011.
  • It will be the sole responsibility of the candidate to make sure that he/she is eligible and fulfills all the conditions prescribed for the admission.
  • If ineligibility of the candidate is detected at any stage, before or after the examination/declaration of results or during any stage of the course, his/her candidature / admission will be cancelled without any notice.
  • Disciplinary action will be taken against him/her and entire fee will also be forfeited.
  • The candidate must fill the application form in his/her own handwriting, clearly, legibly and in BLOCK letters-(Sample at Appendix-B)
  • The application form should be filled in English only. Incomplete application forms will be summarily rejected.
  • A candidate seeking admission to the full time diploma courses through CET-2011 is required to submithis/her application in the prescribed ICR/OMR application form supplied with the Information Bulletin.
  • Separate application forms are to be filled for each Test. Photocopy of the application form will not be accepted.
  • Before filling-in the application form and admit card in duplicate, it is advisable to write the name and other particulars on a separate sheet of paper first to verify the correctness of spellings.
  • The Candidate should write the appropriate code numbers in the appropriate boxes provided in the application form and admit card bearing the same serial number.
  • The Candidate shall fill-in the application form and admit card in duplicate giving all the required particulars except the roll number, using black ballpoint pen in the prescribed boxes (wherever provided). Village, Post Office, Tehsil and District have to be abbreviated as Vill., P.O., Tehsil and Distt., respectively. Pin code number, Phone number, Mobile No. and e-mail address must be given in the space provided for the
    purpose.
